Health and Education: the humanization knowledge through awareness

This article proposes a reflection on the construction of health knowledge, more specifically in university education in physiotherapy. It mainly presents a brief review of the work Pedagogy of the Oppressed, by Paulo Freire, in order to bring the reader closer to the perspective from which this work was developed. Then, supported by classical authors and recent studies, it shows biomedical science as the dominant paradigm in health care. Finally, a qualitative study was performed on a proposal for health education that seeks to be problematizer, the Integral Movement project. Thus, by studying the meanings of the project, assigned by the participants, the article explores and exemplifies in the practice, the content covered in the theory.
