School library and the mediation of reading Biblioteca escolar e a media o da leitura

Presents results of a survey on particular esolas located in the urban perimeter of the city of Londrina, librarian's activities to promote the reading of literature. Grant search in library science and education in mediation, thematic reading at school, mediation, mediators in the formation of the little reader, school library and reading promotion activity. Used as data collection instrument two forms, with them it was possible to detect the activities conducted in these schools, the first being the time of the tale, the second loan of books and the third is "reading incentive". Concludes that the tale has been shown to be effective in bringing children with the book; the second is a compulsory work in the library, therefore, should be carried out continuously and the third is essential in all genres of the library. O texto apresenta resultados de uma pesquisa realizada nas esolas particulares localizadas no perímetro urbano da cidade de Londrina, a respeito das atividades dos bibliotecários no sentido de promov er a leitura da literatura. Buscam-se subsídios nas áreas de Biblioteconomia e Educa o, nas temáticas leitura, media o da leitura na escola, media o da literatura, mediadores na forma o do pequeno leitor, a biblioteca escolar e atividade de promo o à leitura. S o utilizados como instrumento de coleta de dados dois formulários, com eles foi possível detectar as atividades mais realizadas nessas escolas, sendo a primeira a hora do conto, a segunda o empréstimo de livros e a terceira é “incentivo à leitura”. Conclui-se que a hora do conto tem se mostrado eficaz na aproxima o das crian as com o livro; a segunda é um trabalho obrigatória na rotina da biblioteca, portanto, deve ser realizada diuturnamente e a terceira, é imprescindível em todos os gêneros de biblioteca.
