La referència en la gramàtica funcional discursiva

The aim of this paper is to explain the concept of reference from the point of view of Functional Discourse Grammar (FDG: Hengeveld and Mackenzie 2008, Keizer 2008). According to this approach, reference has an actional (pragmatic) side that has to be distinguished from a denotative (semantic) side. Departing from this view, we discuss some examples of the morphosyntactic coding of reference, as well as the role of reference in the pragmatic and semantic motivation of discourse coherence.
