Identifying Protein Family of Unknown Sequence on the Large –Scale Tree Graph

The protein family classification is to group genes into families so that genes within the same family have common function. It is an important problem in computational biology, since it suggests possible functions and structures for proteins. I developed an algorithm for protein family classification. The suggested method assigns unclassified proteins to families based on sequence alignment scores from the sequence alignment algorithm so that genes within the same family have common function. In experiments, I validated this supervised method by 10-fold cross validation and performed an accuracy rate for seven representative species.
