BDTK (Biological Database Tool Kit)

Bioinformatics, a technology for computational management of biological data which aids in collation, storage, analysis and integration of high throughput data generated in this post genomic era. The prime objective of this field is to enable the researchers to customize their data storage and retrieval, enabling efficient data mining. Many of the biologists may not be familiar with database programming and they have to seek assistance from Database Administrator for even to create a small customized database. Hence, to address this concern, the present project is initiated to evolve a GUI driven Biological Database Tool Kit (BDTK), which will enable the biologists to create their own customized database without code level programming. BDTK was developed using PHP, MySQL and Apache server on a Linux platform. The tool is platform independent and is freely available for download for the scientific community at http://www.xinnovem.in/bdtk
