VALIDATED UV SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR ESTIMATION OF BICALUTAMIDE IN TABLET DOSAGE FORM

A sensitive and direct spectrophotometric method is developed for Bicalutamide in their pharmaceutical formulation. The optimum conditions for the analysis of the drug are established. The method permits the determination of Bicalutamide over a concentration range of 4μg/ml to 15/μg/ml. Detection and quantification limit was found to be that 0.01098μg/ml and 0.578μg/ml respectively. The attained results shows that good recoveries of 98.10%, with relative standard deviation of 0.817. All the calibration curve shows a linear relation between the absorbance and concentration with correlation coefficient higher than 0.9996. Precision and Accuracy of the method was established with recovery studies. The proposed method is applicable for the assay of Bicalutamide investigation in dosage form and the results are in good agreement.
