RP-HPLC METHOD FOR THE ESTIMATION OF LEVOCITRIZINE AND ITS PRESERVATIVES IN ORAL SOLUTIONS

A simple, sensitive and precise Reversed Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic Method for the estimation of Levocitrizine Hcl, Methylparaben and Propylparaben (preservatives) in oral solution. The Quantification was carryout using a water symmetry C8-column 4.6×250mm, 5μ particle size with mobile phase comprising PH- - 6.0 buffer and methanol at a flow rate of 1.0ml/min.The eluent was monitored at 230 nm. The retention time of the drug was 12.9min and of Methylparaben and Propylparaben (preservatives) 6.20 and 14.20min respectively. The calibration curve was linear in the conc. range of 25-150μg/ml. The proposed method was statistically evaluated and can be applied for routine quality control analysis of Levocitrizine Hcl, Methylparaben and Propylparaben in Oral solution
