STUDY OF GROUND WATER QUALITY IN AND AROUND SIDCUL INDUSTRIAL AREA, HARIDWAR, UTTARAKHAND, INDIAKeywords: Ground water , Haridwar , metals , physico-chemical parameters Abstract: Water is an elixir of life. It is an important component to human survival. Water should be purified for a better life style. It is the basic duty of every individual to conserve water resources. The present study attempts to bring an acute awareness among the people about the quality of ground water by taking water samples from specific locations for analysis. The experiment analyses its various physico-chemical and metallic parameters such as pH, temperature, electrical conductivity, ammonical nitrogen, TDS, TH, Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl-, SO42-, total alkalinity, sodium, potassium, total phosphours, total nitrogen, DO and Cu, Pb, Zn, Fe, Cd and Ni etc. The results are compared with standards of WHO and BIS.
