A mis amigos de Barcelona.

This issue of DC papers aims to provide new insights about some architectures which, in worst circumstances and crisis times, were able to formulate alternatives to mediocrity dictated by power. Provisionally we will call them limit architectures, those which were able to reflect on the discipline and their possibilities, but that doesn’t coincide with the prevailing inertia, the established programs or inability to invention of the architect.The proposals discussed roam on the border of utopia, seen from any point that an architect could conceive, and a charge that could never come and they had to find and out. Convinced of the usefulness of their proposal and the development of a critical architecture, these projects, proposals and buildings, have left a lot of traces to constitute a disciplinary corpus that encourages alternatives to the mediocrity of the global time. From different times and proposals, the publication will show the alternatives that could irritate or interest a power that would not need them or simply failed to destroy them. As always, margins exist. History offers many examples that encourage to reflection. DC will talk about them.
