THE EFFECTS OF FIREWALL ON COST EFFICIENCY AMONG SELECTED BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS IN NIGERIA

This work is intended to study the effects of firewalls on cost efficiency among selected business organizations inNigeria; the researcher sets out to study the different aspects or areas that should be considered when deployingfirewall security systems in business organizations. These aspects of security can be stated as follows: hardwaresecurity aspect, software security aspect, database security aspect, network security aspect. In doing this, theresearcher formed and distributed questionnaires to respondents. Some results were used in this analysis, as somerespondents did not return theirs while others were inaccurate. The valid results were analyzed using multipleregression, and it was discovered from the analysis, that the whole aspects of firewall security offers cost efficiencyto business organizations. Then individually it was discovered that database security aspect and network securityaspects have significant effect on cost efficiency among business organizations, while hardware security aspect andsoftware security aspects do not have significant effect on cost efficiency. From the analysis business organizationsare also advised to invest more in hardware and software security to improve cost efficiency among businessorganizations.
