IS IT POSSIBLE TO IMPLEMENT A KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN A PUBLIC HOSPITAL ENVIRONMENT?

This paper describes a conceptual organizing scheme for managing knowledge within a health setting. In this paper we present a framework to implement a Knowledge Management System (KMs) to manage and evaluate the research activities in a Cardiology Department of a Public Hospital in Spain. This framework was derived from a review and analysis of the knowledge management literature and from the author′s own experience.
