In vitro and in vivo Anti Trypanosomal Activity of the Leaf of Lawsonia inermis Against Trypanosoma brucei brucei Infection in MiceKeywords: Lawsonia intermis , antitrypanosomal , Trypanosoma brucei Abstract: In vitro and in vivo antitrypanosomal activity of the leaf of Lawsonia inermis have been investigated. Crude methanolic extract had in vitro activity against Trypanosoma brucei at concentration of 8.3 mg mL-1 of blood. The treatment tends to ameliorate the disease condition, but did not affect the level of parasitaemia and pack cell volume. The addition of glycerol as an adjuvant did not also show any significant effect.
