Abstract: This article presents some of the experiences, observations and analyses based on future teachers during their traineeship at the discipline of Practice in Teaching Biology of Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). It is a different work done through a partnership among the University, the State School Jo o Gon alves Pinheiro and the Lagoa do Peri Public Park (PMLP). Here we describe the experiences of the course “People and Plants: interactions for life”, which was focused on building a relation among students’ knowledge and stories, linking it to biological concepts and rescuing local culture. Therefore, practice classes were planned in order to promote an exchange between students and teachers through walking, trails, coffee breaks, or even moments of built, rebuilt and recreation. By the end, we observed a lot of possibilities of learning for all people involved, identifying this practice as an opportunity of rethinking and promoting the learning process in a more pleasant way.
