Abstract:

The present text is a result from an ongoing research regarding the six year old child insertion in elementary school and is linked to the Study and Research Group in Literacy and Portuguese Language Teaching (Nepalp) from UFSC Science Education Center. Such research is proceeding in two municipal schools from Florianópolis/SC. The presented project has the aim to understand how the investigated municipal schools are being organized for the six year old integration in elementary school toward the effective law request. As methodology, such research includes classroom watching, monitoring the continuing education offered by the municipal schools and interviews with the involved teachers and with the Secretary of Education representative, responsible for six year old children insertion in elementary school. This work, in special, presents the analysis of a classroom report resulting from the observations that proceeded during the research. It is expected that this study provides a dialog which allows a larger reflection about childhood, literacy, schooling processes and continuing education.
