Liderazgo entre iguales en equipos deportivos: una revisión camino a la integración (An Integrated Vision of Peer Leadership in Sports Teams: A Review)

In general, studies on sports leadership have focused on the coach, paying less attention to the leadership shown bysome athletes in relation to their peers. However, their daily practice shows us the importance in sports teams of peerleaders, due to their influence on the other players and their impact on all the group processes. This study provides atheoretical overview of the literature, focusing on advances in the study of peer leadership in relation to the conceptualissues and the assessment systems used. Specifically, it offers an integrated vision, at the theoretical and methodologicallevel, based on recent publications, which allows us to establish a current point of reference and suggests futurelines of research.
