Compreendendo a intera o sinérgica regional: uma teoria fundamentada sobre a regi o do grande ABC

O Novo Regionalismo vem despertando interesse em escala mundial a partirda década de 1980. O conceito “consciência regional”, por sua vez, está sendoapresentado na literatura nacional e internacional como importante base para novosmodelos de desenvolvimento. Assim, este estudo foi realizado com o propósito decontribuir para um melhor entendimento sobre o fen meno da consciência regional,mediante a utiliza o dos procedimentos metodológicos preconizadas pelaGrounded Theory. A pesquisa realizada teve como resultado a concep o de umateoria substantiva que foi denominada COMPREENDENDO A INTERA OSINéRGICA REGIONAL e as categorias que representam os processos sociaisaparecem interligadas ao conceito central da teoria. Ao final, o estudo questiona adefini o clássica de consciência regional, propondo uma amplia o do conceito,visto que seu uso em literatura toma uma relevancia tal que as defini es atuais n oconseguem retratar. Abstract The New Regionalism is a worldwide phenomenon that is growing in interestsince the decade of 1980. The concept “regional consciousness” is being used innational and international literature as an important basis to new models ofdevelopment. The aim of this study is to bring a contribution to a betterunderstanding of the regional consciousness phenomenon by the adoption ofGrounded Theory Method, justified in this investigation by its purposes and thenature of the research object. This study presents a substantive theory denominatedCOMPREHENDING REGIONAL SYNERGETIC INTERACTION and the categoriesthat represent the social processes interconnected to the core category. This studyalso questions regional consciousness definitions that are adopted in literature. Itproposes a review of the concept because it has been referred in literature as a veryimportant element to the success of regionalist projects and that does not fit with thelimited concepts in use.
