Experimental stand for CO2 membrane separationKeywords: membrane separation , CO2 , experimental investigation Abstract: Membranous methods are applied, among other things, in the petrochemical industry, as well as in processes of the cleaning of the natural gas before its transport. In years 80-ties the dynamic development of polymer membranes proceeded, what contributed to the commercial success of this technique of the separation. Furthermore, also fully developed process of the industrial membranous separation of air (O2/N2) took place. Membranous methods of the separation as compared with processes of the absorption and the cryogenic fractionation process are less energy-consuming.Instead, proprieties of membranes predisposed to the separation CO2 from flue gases go under to the progressive improvement thence it is possible to conclude that this technology will become developmental in applications for the energy sector. The development of membranous technologies permits to prognose that this technology will be competitive in future at an angle of the efficiency and costs in relation to other ways of the separation. In the association with conducted scientific research in this area in the Institute of Power Engineering and Turbomachinery of the Silesian University of Technology took action , through which the research installation was constructed in order to make research on the membranous separation of CO2 .In the article the construction of the installation and its fundamental of the work was described. Furthermore, results tests of the research installation with the use of membranes about low flows was discussed. Aim of the tests was the verification of the installation and its adaptation to the needs of research characteristic of ceramic and polymer membranes with the use of gas-simulant mixtures combustion gasses - typical for energy systems. Further more in the article chosen results of research on ceramic and polymer membranes made on the researching installation are presented.
