Tendencias y perspectivas del turismo de sol y playa en Marruecos. El caso de la región Tánger-Tetuán

The aim pursued in this paper is to analyze the tourism activity of the region Tangier- Tetouan in Morocco. In addition to the study of the main available variables statistics for the region, a fieldwork has been carried out in the framework of an extensive research project on sustainable tourism, called Ibn Battouta. The values of the region have been compared with the values of other nearby areas in the Strait of Gibraltar. As a result of the analysis performed, the tourist potential of the region has been confirmed, including the sun and beach tourism. The current global situation has raised a number of questions and queries about the tendency of this activity in Morocco. Moroccan government has clearly opted for schemes —such as the called Plan Azur— for the sector. The development of the tourism activity should also be accompanied by improving environmental parameters that have been affected by some of the actions taken in the coast of Tangier-Tetouan Region. Este artículo pretende analizar la actividad turística en la región Tánger-Tetuán en Marruecos. Además del estudio de las principales variables estadísticas disponibles en la zona, se ha realizado un trabajo de campo enmarcado dentro de un proyecto de investigación más amplio sobre turismo sostenible denominado Ibn Battouta. Se comparan los valores de la región con otras áreas cercanas dentro del estrecho de Gibraltar. En este análisis se constata el potencial turístico de la región. El gobierno marroquí ha apostado de forma evidente por el sector con planes como el “Plan Azur”. Su desarrollo debe ir paralelo a la mejora de los parámetros medioambientales que se han visto afectados por algunas de las actuaciones realizadas en la costa de dicha región. En outre l'étude des principales variables statistiques dans la zone, nous avons réalisé en travail sur le terrain plus approfondi encadré dans le projet de recherche sur le tourisme soutenable Ibn Battouta. Notre investigation compare les valeurs de la région avec celles des aires prochaines dans le Détroit de Gibraltar. Notre analyse constate le potentiel touristique de la région. Le Plan Azur du gouvernement Marrocain a soutenu favorablement ce secteur; son développement doit être paralle`le à l'amélioration des paramètres environnementaux qui ont été affectés par certaines interventions réalisées dans la c te de la région en question.
