ESTUDO COMPARATIVO DA INFLUêNCIA DA FOTOPOLIMERIZA O POR LED E L MPADA HALóGENA NO MANCHAMENTO DA RESINA COMPOSTA SUBMETIDA A ALIMENTOS CORANTESDOI: 10.5747/cv.2010.v02.n01.v026 Keywords: Composite resin , Color , Discoloration , Light-curing units Abstract: The present study had as objective to compare the influence of the light curing process by LED and halogen light in the change of the original color in 3M composite resin Z250, A1 shade, submitted to high colored foods. It were confectioned 22 resin samples, sized with 3 mm of diameter for 2 mm of thickness, on an isolated field. Ten volunteers were guided to keep their normal diets and to relate ingested foods and potentially colored drinks daily, mainly the use of coffee. Eleven samples will be cured by LED (Ultraled, Dabi Atlante), 11 by halogen Light (Ultralux, Dabi Atlante) during 20 seconds and 2 samples, one of each group had been stored in distilled water and later used as color scale. The samples had been fixed on tooth 16 (polymerized for led) and on tooth 26 (polymerized for halógena light). After 20 days the samples had been removed for visual analysis of the color alteration under natural light and for comparison with the control sampels. The authors observed that all the samples showed color alteration and had not presented significant differences between the two used types of light-curing units.
