AVALIA O FISIOTERAPêUTICA DE PACIENTES PORTADORES DE DOEN A DE PARKINSON POR MEIO DE ESCALAS: ESTUDO DE CASO

Parkinson's disease is a chronic degenerative disease of the central nervous system, idiopathic characterized by motor abnormalities that mainly affects people over 50 years old. This study aimed to analyze the functional impairment, disease progression, and the benefits of physical therapy treatment. The survey was conducted with two male patients suffering from Parkinson's disease, and was carried out the statistical analysis of the scale of Hoehn and Yahr, Webster and Evaluation of the Unified Parkinson's disease, by comparing the functional framework of the patients and the first and last application of the scales, according to the score of the patients during four months of physical therapy, conducted in individual therapy twice a week. It has been demonstrated stability and functional improvement in patients, by maintaining or reduction of points on those scales. A patient also presented the disease in Hoehn and Yahr scale. It was concluded that physical therapy has shown positive results according to what is proposed by other studies in patients with Parkinson's disease.
