LAS PRIMERAS CORTES QUE HA VISTO AMéRICA. ELECCIONES PARA EL CUERPO CONSERVADOR DE LOS DERECHOS DE FERNANDO VII EN VENEZUELA (1810-1811)

The first manifestations of loyalty and patriotism showed in Spanish America between 1808 and 1809, were replaced by the establishment of provincial boards of government in 1810, which immediately sought to establish effective mechanisms for the election of new officers. The importance of the elections called by the Supreme Board of Caracas is that, although the mechanisms and regulation incorporates previous electoral experience, the context in which it was issued, the complexity and scope thereof, revealed completely new. Las primeras manifestaciones de lealtad y patriotismo que se mostraron en la América espa ola entre 1808 y 1809, fueron reemplazadas por la conformación de juntas provinciales de gobierno en 1810, las cuales buscaron establecer inmediatamente mecanismos efectivos para la elección de sus nuevas autoridades. La importancia de las elecciones convocadas por la Junta Suprema de Caracas radica en que, si bien el reglamento retoma mecanismos y experiencias electorales anteriores, el contexto en el que fue emitido, la complejidad y alcance del mismo, se revelaron completamente nuevos.
