Diffusional limitations in carbon gel-supportedcatalysts are often encountered despite their openstructure. However, the analysis of mass transportis rarely taken into account in studies dealing withcatalyst preparation and test using thesenanostructured carbons as supports. Any catalyticsystem should be first subject to mass transportanalysis before any conclusion can be drawn aboutrelationships between the physico-chemicalproperties and the measured activity of the catalyst.
