Artur, Galaaz e os cavaleiros do Graal: modelos monárquicos de soberania em Portugal nos séculos XII e XIIIKeywords: Chivalry , Hero , Portuguese monarchy Abstract: In the Portuguese text of Demanda do Santo Graal, the model of heroic performance of Galahad, the hero of the Grail, appears interwoven with other forms of knightly performance, and in contraposition to the history of Arthur in the decline of his reign. The ensemble attributes that grants Galahad the privileged role of hero of the spiritual chivalry of the Grail was grounded in the monarchic model of sovereignty that, between the 12th-13th centuries, takes shape under the joint influence of clerical and aristocratic discourses about power, and which is spread in Portugal in the context of affirmation of the Portuguese monarchy.
