It is time to review the Australian case in order to understand the consequences of adopting education policies oriented to purely commercial economical interests that academic capitalism theory supported by Slaughter and Leslie,contributes to understand. Otherwise, it seems that theory of world economy proposed by Wallerstein provides more suitable interpretation resources by pointing that creation of globaluniversities in semi peripheral countries oriented to develop education as a business is not a matter of option.
