ALGUNAS CONSIDERACIONES SOBRE LA CONCEPTUALIZACIóN HISTORIOGRáFICA DE LA TRADICIóN RELIGIOSA MANIQUEA S0ME CONSIDERATIONS ON THE HISTORIOGRAPHICAL CONCEPTUALIZATION OF THE MANICHAEAN RELIGIOUS TRADITION

El objetivo de este artículo es reflexionar sobre las dificultades que los historiadores han tenido a la hora de caracterizar al maniqueísmo. En primer lugar, se identificarán, a modo de ejemplo, diferentes caracterizaciones realizadas a lo largo de la historia. En segundo lugar, se planteará una vía de solución que escape a este intento de otorgar una identidad excluyente y que incorpore las diferencias temporales y regionales de la tradición religiosa maniquea. The aim of this article is to reflect upon the complications which the historians have faced when trying to characterize Manichaeism. In the first place, we will identify, as an example of this, different characterizations that have been made throughout history. In the second place, we will propose a possible solution which avoids the attempt of confering an exclusive identity and which incorporates the temporal and regional differences of the Manichaean religious tradition.
