Une relation douce-amère

Cet article nuance les relations entre juifs polonais émigrés et leur pays natal avant la Shoah. Il se focalise sur la jeunesse intellectuelle juive polonaise exilée en Belgique et se base uniquement sur des sources antérieures à la tragédie. En analysant les raisons conduisant ces étudiants juifs polonais à quitter la Pologne, mais aussi les liens qu’ils gardent et maintiennent au quotidien avec leur pays natal, ainsi que la reproduction des traditions et usages socioculturels juifs polonais et la transmission de leur patrimoine culturel à leur descendance, l’auteur parvient à mettre en lumière toute l’ambigüité de cette relation intense et complexe à la fois. This article nuances the relationship between Polish Jewish immigrants and their native country before the Holocaust. It focuses on intellectual Polish Jewish youth in exile in Belgium and exclusively relies on sources prior to the tragedy. By analyzing the reasons leading these Polish Jewish students to leave Poland, but also the links they kept and daily maintained with their homeland country, as well as the reproduction of Polish Jewish socio-cultural traditions and customs and the transmission of their cultural heritage to their line of descent, the author manages to shed light on the ambiguity of this intense and complex relationship at a time.
