Abstract:

With workplace safety, operators have to put more effort to understand a need to create a conducive while maintaining competitive working environment. Through various regulations, the Malaysian government has made efforts on executing safety and health policies through the enforcement of guidelines as well as conducting site safety seminars and certifications. Yet, existing record indicated that the present Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) situation in the workplace is still very much adverse and below expectation. This paper therefore aimed to call attention on the issue about the elements that contribute to the workplace accidents among workers at workplace. This paper further examined the relationship between individual factors and job factors that contribute to the workplace accidents. After assessing through the homogeneity and heterogeneity of the population, The proportionate stratified sampling was performed in ensuring the generalizability of the study. Using 177 samples, correlation investigation was conducted at the survey sites. In ensuring the stability of information generated, cross-sectional data was conducted using self-administered questionnaire. Based on the result, we conclude that dimensions like stress and fatigue, unsafe act, machinery and tools, design of workplace, training procedures assumed to directly influence the workplace accident.
