A preserva o da momória material na Sé do Porto : (entre a Idade Média e a época Contempor nea)

The conservation of material memory, materialized under the form of the written record, was oneof the concerns of those in charge of the government of Porto’s cathedral since the Middle Ages. Theknowledge of by whom, where and how this conservation was made is essential to understand theorganization of the institution itself. This knowledge is also fundamental to understand the evolution ofbehaviors with regard to the preserved documents, as well as knowing the archival practices used throughoutthe centuries. Only the analysis of all these vectors can provide an overarching view of the role ofdocumentary/material memory in the cathedral during the period in analysis.
