Abstract:
?Aseriesofcoumarin-chalconehybridcompoundsandcoumarinslinkedtopyrazolinewassynthesizedingoodyieldandshorttimeusingasimpleandefficientmethod.Thismethodinvolvedtheone-potreactionofsalicylaldehyde,anα-ketoesterandanaromaticaldehyde(inthecaseofthecoumarin-chalconederivatives)inadditiontohydrazinehydrate(inthecaseofthepyrazolylcoumarins)inthepresenceofacatalyticamountofbismuthtriflate[Bi(OTf)3,5mol%].Thesynthesizedcompoundsshowedscavengingactivitytowardsthefreeradical2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl.AllcompoundswerecharacterizedusingIR,1HNMRand13CNMRspectroscopy.
