About Museological Education and Some Peculiarities of Teaching of Museological Disciplines

Abstract:

As part of the сеrtification training (internship), the author acquainted with the specifics of the teaching of museological disciplines in a number of higher educational institutions of Ukraine, and emphasizes the importance of museum education for researchers of the museum and on the need to improve the content, forms, and methods of this education. The role of institutions in the preparation of museumologists (museologists) has been discussed, in particular, the Department of archeology and museology of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, the Department of Museology and Memory Studies of the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture, the Department of Museology and Memory Studies of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, as well as the Department of Cultural Studies of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. The author also analyzes the experience of providing educational services in the field of museology in Canada (I. I. Tyurmenko) and the program of professional education in museology (F. Weidakher etc.). The important for the implementation of program tasks is the presence of certain collections (museums, laboratories, etc.) at the departments, the funds of which can be used during practical classes / practices. In terms of some museological disciplines, practical classes on the basis of the leading museums are important. The author further focuses on the practices that take place, in particular, at the NaUKMA Department of Cultural Studies, namely, the introductory (museum) and the research (museum) ones. The article touches on the specifics of teaching museological disciplines, in particular, on the use of visual means. The article emphasizes that the development of the methodology of teaching museological disciplines is relevant today.
