Abstract:

Bovine ring typhus is a rumorous blood protozoosis caused by the erythrocytes and reticuloendothelial system of Bovine larvae (Theileria annulata). The clinical manifestations are severe symptoms such as high fever and anemia. If the diagnosis and treatment are not timely, the mortality rate is extremely high and the economic loss is huge. In this paper, 30 yak blood samples collected from Tashkurgan County were tested by PCR for the detection of Theileria annulata. The results showed that the overall positive rate of PCR was 13.3% (4/30), the positive rate of female yak was 13.0%, and the positive rate of male yak was 14.0%. The variance of the disease was found to be insignificant between the sex of yak (P = 0.935 > 0.05), indicating that the plateau yak in the county is infected with Theileria annulata to varying degrees, which is potentially harmful and should be strengthened.
