Translations of the Quran and Bible: An Analysis

Abstract:

Translation is one of the most common aspects of literature. According to Malcolm Cowley, Translation is an act that involves the re-creation of a work in another language for readers with a different background. You know the Greeks considered themselves the originators of worldly sciences. But they are nowhere in the history of the act of translation because they knew how to benefit themselves from their own language. They were not in the favor of paying attention to the non-Greeks. Yet they failed to survive their this temperament because with the domination of the Christianity, the translation of the Bible became an imperative matter because the Old Testament was in Hebreu and to translate in to Greek was a must. Consequently, the process of translating the Old Testament and the New Testament lasted and the teachings of the Bible were being translated in to different languages. Like the Jews, the Muslims also translated the Holy Qur'an in a huge number and it is very hard to specify number of these translations. The theme of this Article is a short evaluation of the Bible and the Holy Qur'an
