IL-33 ameliorates experimental colitis involving regulation of autophagy of macrophages in mice

Treatment with 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TNBS) enhanced the autophagy in mice with colitis. BALB/c mice were given 2.5 mg/mouse TNBS (dissolved in 50% ethanol) or the vehicle ethanol intrarectally.
