Abstract:

Mean?±?SD. a GTT was performed in E4orf1 transgenic and non-transgenic mice (after 4?h of starvation) by injecting D-glucose (1.5?mg/kg of body weight) intra-peritoneally. Blood glucose was determined at 0, 15, 30, 60, and 120?min post-glucose load shows significantly faster glucose clearance in E4orf1-expressing mice. b Body weight did not differ significantly between the two groups. The hyperinsulinemic–euglycemic clamp studies performed on these mice do not show any difference in c fasting blood glucose (mg/dL), d glucose infusion rate, or e plasma insulin (ng/mL).
