Proposed U.S. regulation of gene-edited food animals is not fit for purpose

Hornless offspring of a gene edited bull alongside a horned control cow. The reason cattle differ in their coat color, or whether or not they grow horns, is due to naturally occurring DNA sequence variations in their genome.
