THE THEODORE E. WOODWARD AWARDAbstract: This award was endowed by its namesake in 1992 to recognize the presenter at the annual meeting who spoke the most eloquently “. . . on the importance of clinical skills in medical practice and teaching.” In 1993 the Council enthusiastically selected Dr. Woodward as its first recipient, based on his presentation, entitled “Edward L. Trudeau: Pioneer Climatologist,” which they felt epitomized the award’s goal of “. . . enhancing the art and science of clinical skills.
