A Clinical Profile and Co-morbidities of Pemphigus Vulgaris Patients: A Study of 35 CasesDOI: https://doi.org/10.3329/kyamcj.v10i2.42789 Abstract: Background: Pemphigus vulgaris (PV), an autoimmune blistering disease involving the skin and mucosa. PV frequently begins with oral lesions and progresses to skin lesions. Autoimmune bullous skin disorders are associated with IgG or IgA auto- antibodies against distinct adhesion molecules of the epidermis and dermal epidermal basement membrane zone, respectively. These auto- antibodies lead to a loss of skin adhesion which shows up clinically as the formation of blisters or erosions
