Abstract:
摘要 戈德堡教授在反思时下欧洲难民、美国移民以及由此引发的西方民主社会危机的 现实背景下重读“芝加哥学派”社会学经典之作《身处欧美的波兰农民》。翻译此 文,希望也可对我国新闻与传播学界进一步了解该学派有所启迪。即这样的再阐释, 可能提供了一个看待“芝加哥学派”的不同视角,展示了在当下的政治情境中重读、 精读经典的论述路径,并显示了经典论著如何为我们批判当下的现实提供了理论资源 和问题意识。
In this essay, Professor Goldberg re-reads the classic of the Chicago Sociology, The Polish Peasant in Europe and America, against the backdrop of the present crisis in Western democracies associated with in part the flows of refugees in Europe and immigrants in the US. Translating this essay is for the hope of inspiring those of us in Chinese communication research to interpret the Chicago School in a new distinct lens, namely, how to read the classics in the present-day political contexts. This essay also shows us how the classic offers us the theoretical resources and problematics when critically analyzing the present conditions
