Abstract:

To present a case of laryngeal lymphoma in a pediatric patient and perform a literature review of this rare entity. A 13-year-old male presented with a rapidly enlarging right neck mass. Work-up of the neck mass included a computed tomography scan of the neck with contrast and revealed a 2.5 cm right level II neck mass and an asymmetric lobulated soft tissue mass in the right pyriform sinus. The patient underwent excisional biopsy of the right supraglottic mass. Once his diagnosis was confirmed, he was treated with a standard lymphoma protocol. Intraoperative frozen analysis revealed a small blue cell tumor. Final pathology demonstrated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the germinal center B-cell subtype (GC-DLBCL). The patient underwent treatment with primary chemotherapy 12 days after his original procedure with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone. Laryngeal lymphoma remains extremely rare in the pediatric population. With appropriate treatment, the 5-year disease-free survival remains excellent for germinal center diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
