After the split between Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union, the latter tried to portray Tito as the enemy of the Soviet people. The anti-Yugoslav propaganda used political cartoons that were mostly published in Krokodil (lit. the crocodile), a satirical magazine that succeeded in leaving a trace in the Soviet general public
