Mobile Makerspaces für kleinere Gemeindebibliotheken: Ein ProjektberichtAbstract: A project by the university of applied sciences HTW Chur (Switzerland) investigated if the broad concept of Makerspace could be remodeled for smaller libraries in Switzerland. The project based on the substantial literature on experience with makerspaces in libraries, but it considered the possibilities and potentials of smaller libraries as well. Four libraries hosted events with the “mobile makerspaces” of the project; the project team observed those. This article outlines the motivation (1) and ideas behind the project (2), describes the “mobile makerspace boxes” which were constructed in the project (3) and the events, which the libraries hosted (4). The discussion of the results (5) emphasises, among other topics, the significance of engaged staff and the need to adjust a “makerspace” to the local situation.
