Innovation through Coopetition: Future Directions and New Challenges

Abstract The paper focuses on the topic of the relationship between coopetition and innovation as well as on their impact on competitive advantage. Before getting to the central issue, a literature review on the topic of coopetition is carried out, in order to catch the existing gaps as well as to single out the paths for future development on the topic. Starting with a bibliometric analysis, the research then focuses on the contents of the contemporary literature, analyzing the main approaches internationally developed. The hint is to study the relationship between innovation and coopetition (in terms of antecedents) and then the impact of innovation-based coopetition or of coopetition-based innovation on firm performance.
