Determination of Water Quality of Irrigation Water Sources in Tarakli District of Sakarya

Abstract:

Apples, grapes and pears, especially hazelnuts are mainly produced in Tarakl? District of Sakarya. In this study, three different water sources which were used extensively for using irrigation purpose samples (G?ynük, Gürleyik ve Kayaba??) were sampled to by local producers in two sampling time taking into account the irrigation season. Some of the analysis such as pH, EC, CO3, HCO3, CI, SO4, P, NO3, NH4, Na, K, Ca, Mg, B and heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Ni, Pb, Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe) were done in the samples. SAR (sodium adsorption ratio) and analysis result of waters are compared with the limit values. As a result of the irrigation water analyzes, the water resources were claassified as C2S1 irrigation water. This quality water can produce salinity damage to low permeable soils for sensitive plants. Heavy metal pollution was not found in that irrigation water sources
