The Influence of Parental Attitudes on Children's Social Skills

The family is the place where children get their first experiences of life, grow up and develop and learn social behaviors. This research was conducted to examine the parental influence of childrearing attitudes on children's social skills. The universe of the study was pre-school children in Mersin province center Yeni？ehir and Mezitli districts; The sample of the research consists of 122 children aged 4-6 years who attend pre-primary education institutions in these districts. Of these children, 79 are in pre-school education in Yeni？ehir and 43 in pre-school in Mezitli. The Family Information Form, Child Raising Attitude Scale and Social Skills Assessment Scale were used by the researcher. As a result of the research, it has been determined that parenting attitudes are influential on children's social skills
