Abstract:

The organization of campaigns in the Ottoman Empire was made with extraordinary planning with the experience of centuries. In this respect, it is known to be superior to the contemporaneous European states. The Ottoman Empire has made intense efforts to defend and keep its wide borders on both western and eastern fronts. Certainly that the timely delivery of food and ammunition to the soldiers is of great importance. The recovery of the army going to war, the march to the se?ene of the hot war, meeting all the needs on the road and the front were planned a long time before from the . In the preparation of an expedition there was an intensive activity in the whole country. In thisregard, for the campaign to Austria in 1716, many materials for the army from Anatolia and the Balkans, and for the transportation of them were provided. Draught and mount animals are used to transport all kinds of foods, ammunition. Since the campaign was made in the direction of Austria, horses were provided to attract more carts than the Balkans. In addition to this, a group of and artilery horses a fair amount of camels were also taken. From Anatolia, camels, horses and mules were supplied as draught animals and mount animals. In particular, horses and mules were taken only from Anatolia. They were either purchased or rented and sent to Istanbul
