Contributions from Yukari Koyunlu (Sules) Village in Savsat District of Artvin Province to Dictionary Compilation

The purpose of this study is to compile and record the vocabulary which is one of the intangible cultural heritage. In order to determine the vocabulary, Yukari Koyunlu (Sules) village in Savsat district of Artvin province was selected as the area. The main factors in determining this village are that it is a mountain village, and it has preserved its localism as it is far from the centre, and there has not been a direct compilation in similar researches up to the present made. In this study which was prepared according to qualitative research model, culture analysis pattern was used. As a result of the study, some words that did not exist in Dictionary Compilation were discovered. In addition, it was seen that some words compiled in previous studies were inaccurate. Finally, the different meanings of some of the words previously identified were also revealed. The compiled words indicate that the village of Yukar？ Koyunlu, which is connected to Savsat district, carries the characteristics of the eastern group dialects. The detection of the presence of some foreign words, especially Georgian, in the Yukar？ Koyunlu mouth gives us many clues about the history of this region
