The Relationship Between Siyar and Relevant Disciplines and Occasions of Revelation

Siyar as a discipline has much similarity in terms of subjects that it investigates with Islamic History and Hadith. But it can be said that Siyar is a different discipline in terms of its methodology and the boundaries of the subjects that studies. Moreover, though Siyar seems to be a different discipline from Occasions of Revelation (Asbab al-nuzul) but there are similarities between these abovementioned disciplines. The purpose of this study is to define Siyar, to give information about related disciplines, to draw the lines between these disciplines and above all to determine the similarities and dissimilarities of Siyar and theses disciplines
