Participants’ experience about home visit within the scope of public health nursing course: Qualitative studyKeywords: Ev ziyareti,halk sa?l??? hem?ireli?i,hizmet alanlar,nitel ?al??ma Abstract: Aim: The aim of this study was to describe the exprience of participants’ about home visit within the scope of public health nursing course. Method: In this qualitative study, semi-structured interviews were performed with 10 individuals who home visited them. The interview guide prepared by the researchers consists of 6 questions about the experiences of individuals about home visits. The interviews were held at homes of paticipants’ and lasted about 35 minutes and recorded on the tape recorder. All the recordings obtained during the interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed consecutively. The answers of the participants were read separately and repeatedly by both researchers and the themes were formed. In order to strengthen the validity of the survey findings, direct quotations were cited from the participants' comments when the findings were interpreted. Results: Nine of the participants in the study were female. Mean range of the female was 45-92 and male participant was 68 years old. Six of the participants were university graduates. Two were high school and the other two were middle school graduates. The data obtained from the interviews was collected under four main themes as "willing acceptance and participation", "social support", "psychological support" and "medical support". Conclusion: It was found that participants in the study were willing to do and conducting home visits. It was determined that the home visits were beneficial for the participants in terms of psychological, social and medical support. These results demonstrate that home visits should not remain only within the course in Turkey and this study provide important information in that it needs to be carried out within the existing health system
