The Effect of Professionalization on Communication Skills: A Study in Five Star Hotel Establishments

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of professionalization on communication skills in five star hotel establishments. The sample of the study consists of 561 personnel working in the five star hotel establishments in Antalya. The questionnaire including professionalization and communication skills scales was used as data collection technique. Descriptive statistics (frequency, ratio, mean, standard deviation) and regression analysis were used to analyze the data obtained. As a result of the study, it was found that the professionalization levels of the hotel employees were below the medium level and the communication skills were above the medium level. However, there was a positive and medium level relationship between professionalization and communication skills. According to the regression model, it is determined that one (1) unit increase in the level of professionalization creates a 0.50 unit increase on communication skills
