Abstract:

In today's world where we live the age of science and technology, individuals with high-level thinking skills are needed. The level of students' thinking is paralleled by the level of questions posed to them. Therefore, the cognitive levels of the questions directed to the students during the written exams are very important. The purpose of this research is to examine the questions in the written examinations of Turkish, Math, Science and science of life 4 th grade in terms of distribution of cognitive domain stages of Bloom Taxonomy. Survey model which is one of the descriptive research method was used in this study. In this study, which used document analysis method in data analysis; in the first semester of 2017-2018 academic year, 1.784 questions in written exams of Turkish, Math, Science and science of life implemented in the first semester at 4th grade primary schools in Reyhanl? district of Hatay province were examined. The cognitive levels of the questions were determined with regard to Bloom Taxonomy. At the end of the study; when analyzing the written exam questions with regard to distribution to stages of Bloom Taxonomy, the findings show that 44,23% of the questions were at the stage of knowledge, 14,35 % were at the stage of comprehension, 38,90 % were at the stage of application, 2,47 % were at the stage of analysis, 0,05 % was at the stage of the synthesis, and 0% were at the stage of evaluation
